A hilltop villa between Olimpos and Çıralı towns in Antalya has become the comfortable home and studio of the famous Turkish artist Taner Ceylan. The terrace of the house offers a beautiful panorama of the Mediterranean coastline.

Artist Taner Ceylan:

“This was the exact same place I had just dreamt about”

The stone house sits on a ten acre lot. The glazed artist's studio offers spectacular views of the mountains and the verdant valley. The studio has become not only a comfortable place to create, but also the best place to meditate.

The complex story of the project took about five years to realise. Thanks to the teamwork of a local architect and artist, the construction project was based on local materials - pine, cedar, stone and small stones from the beach. In this way, the house on top of the hill was connected to the Mediterranean coast.

On the terrace outside the house, Greek busts create a special atmosphere. They also decorate the interiors of the house.
Taner Ceylan: “Here, I am between ancient towns with nature having such a strong presence, so I have to acknowledge the antiquity.”
